Since those days broadcast technology has advanced so much since then. No one was thinking about High Def TV in the 70's for sure, but what I remember most of all from the early days of Christian Television was the powerful anointing of The Holy Spirit that was on many of those broadcasts This is in no way to disparage any on Christian TV and radio today, but I recall very well that in the 1970's and in most of the '80's their was a great move of the Spirit and all of you in this group played a part in this. I have heard in said by many leaders in Churches and broadcast ministries that we are going to experience another mighty move of the Spirit. With all the new tools available to us today (especially the new media and social networking) we have the ability to reach so many more with the Gospel. What we must not forget though that it is not our skills as broadcast professionals (though we are thankful for them) that is as important as the anointing of the Holy Spirit. May he revive our hearts and refill many of the vets with "A Fresh Anointing." Finally I recall during a telethon at CBN the anointing that was so heavy, that although I had left work hours earlier, I went back to the studio to be part of it. Anybody here remember Dwight Thompson's meetings at Faith Tabernacle that was broadcast on TV 38, once again I was glad to be part of the audience. Just the other day when Pamela (who worked with us at TV38 on a contract basis) recorded a new program with us, she had chosen "Holy Spirit you are welcome Here" to begin the broadcast, after a time of prayer, The presence of the Lord filled the studio, it was very moving. Recently we produced a new video for the Chicago Bible Society that premiered at the Union League Club Downtown. It is titled the touch of the Master's Hand you can watch it on YouTube here The Touch of the Master's Hand

Years ago the Lord gave us Isaiah 61 as the foundation scripture for our ministry. The Bible text reads as follows: "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me to preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To
Proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God
To comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion
To give them beauty for ashes The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness"

There are millions in America who need the Touch of the Master's hand, whether it be for emotional and physical healing, release from addictions, bad relationships, healing from divorce, etc. Through our many programs notably Sunlite Saturday night we minister to the needs of the Lord's people.Sunlite Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02212611343852723060noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5596121335782207367.post-73624068595841123502013-05-31T17:54:00.001-07:002013-05-31T17:54:48.389-07:00The New Southern Gospel USA Flashbacks Radio Show Debuts June 3

Many Christian leaders in the USA have been speaking the same thing. I have been meaning to add a new post on our blog about this also.

This afternoon, I heard a well known evangelist speaking of great moves of the spirit in the past. The first, he said was the great healing revival of the 1950's. He mentioned how many pentecostal churches were tiny and on the "wrong side of the tracks". Even until the early 1970's this was often the case. I never knew of nor was part of the 1950's move of the Holy Spirit, until much later.

The evangelist then spoke of the second great move of the spirit which was in the 1980's. I was privileged, not only to be aware of this revival, but also was part of it, first as a promotion manager and tv producer (we pioneered the first Christian 700 club promos and more) while at the Christian Broadcasting Network in Chicago. CBN saw a great harvest of souls into the Kingdom of God at that time, from 1972-82 when we worked there.

In January of 1983, we joined the staff of Christian television station WCFC-TV 38 in Chicago as director of Promotions and Public Relations. During our three and a half years there, we heavily promoted this Christian broadcast ministry using many media outlets including radio, outdoor advertising (billboards and signs on CTA buses, posters on "L" and Metra train platforms, and commercials in major sports broadcasts, including the White Sox, Cubs, Bulls (Michael Jordan's first year on the team) and the 1986 Super Bowl Bears broadcasts on WGN radio. I am sure that hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions came to know the Lord during the time. I am confident the Lord used Channel 38 to win large numbers to the Lord.

However, that was then, and this is now, as they say. We cannot live in the past or rest on our "proverbial Laurels." For the best is yet to come. I firmly believe we, in Chicago, as well as around the world, are about to experience a might moving of the Holy Spirit, and our ministry, Sunlite Broadcasting, will play a vital role.

You notice the title of this post is about Veteran Christian soldiers. What i feel the Lord saying, is that many of those involved in the previous moves of the Spirit can be used of the Lord in the coming Revival. Think of this regarding what Newscaster Tom Brokaw said in calling the World War Two generation the finest genertion, in his book released a few years ago.

We all know some of the names of the Great Generals and Admirals of World War Two. Names like General Douglas Mac Arthur, General George Patton, Admirals Nimitz and Halsey. It's a long list. What is often forgotten, is that these military leaders also participated, over twenty years earlier, in World War I.

Likewise, among today's Christian leaders, and soon to be leaders, are many who participated in previous spiritual battles. The Good news is that the Lord wants to use them once again, in the next Harvest of Souls into the kingdom of God.
I call them "the Old War horses" who will ride again onto the spiritual battlefields of the earth and gain victories once again in the name of the Lord."

Of course, the Lord is going to use a vast army of younger people as well, on fire for the Lord, but my post today is to be an encouragement to those who witness and/or were part of the previous revivals. So be encouraged today, if you not as young as you used to be. As I said, the best is yet come!

God Bless! Pastor Allan

Sunlite Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02212611343852723060noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5596121335782207367.post-75803868457012788652011-08-28T12:48:00.000-07:002011-08-28T13:09:58.176-07:00Sunlite's Country Gospel Radio Channel
Live365.com is an internet radio portal with thousands of Broadcasters. We had spent the previous three years advertising the Christian TV station using almost every form of media available at the time.

We started with ads in Movie Guides that were distributed in local theaters, but quickly moved on to radio commercials on all major Chicago Stations, Ads on Billboards in the City and Suburbs, Bus displays on Chicago Transit Authority Vehicles, posters on "L" trains cards, in train stations in the Loop and the suburbs and more. We also promoted the stations on the radio broadcasts of Chicago Sports teams including the Bulls (Michael Jordan's first year) Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs and the Bears in 1984 and 1985 leading up to the Super Bowl

I noticed that Coach Mike Ditka is holding special events honoring the team this year and thought this was a good time to reflect on the opportunity the Lord provided us. Remember, this was in the days prior to the "Televangelist Scandals."

Prior to coming to Channel 38 I worked for The Christian Broadcasting Network for ten years. Pat Robertson had talked about running ads in the Super Bowl over the years, but never did it. When I came back to Chicago, I recalled his plans.

Advertising on major sports in Chicago can be very pricey, but we were able to negotiate an affordable rate with WGN radio and commercials for TV38 ran in every game including, of course, the Super Bowl XX broadcast.

I truly believe the Lord wanted the station promoted for the original vision, given to Rev. Owen Carr, the founder, of the station. This vision was "Winning Chicagoland for Christ." I have no idea of how many thousands or hundreds of thousands of people watched Channel 38 for the first time as a result of the advertising. However, I am sure that many gave their lives to Jesus Christ as a result.

For those of us who worked for TV38 at the time, we have the satisfaction of knowing we were all called "for such a time as this." I believe we redeemed the time and have just as much to celebrate at this time as the 1985 Super Bowl Bears.

Finally, I urge all of you, especially those of you in Media to take advantage of new opportunities for spreading the Gospel. As for us, we have pioneered in internet radio and TV broadcasts for the past 13 years. Sunlite Broadcasting will also celebrate its 25th anniversary next spring.
Sunlite Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02212611343852723060noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5596121335782207367.post-72163957365591288842008-04-20T13:47:00.000-07:002008-04-20T14:04:17.404-07:00The Sunlite Radio StoryThe following news story was originally published in the North Loop News, Chicago, Illinois. It has been slightly revised for publication in a Virginia Beach, Virginia Church and Business Guide. You have our permission to reprint it, distribute, and e mail it to your friends to let them know all about Sunlite Radio and its founder, Allan Winters

Chicagoan Broadcasts To World

Allan Winters has been in radio and television for over 30 years, including ten working in various on air and off air capacities for the Christian Broadcasting Network. He left CBN in 1982, but remembers those days fondly as his responsibilities were great training for future endeavors as well being part of the growing CBN broadcast ministry in its earlier days.
Winters, who founded his own media company, Sunlite Broadcasting, over 20 years ago has its headquarters in Downtown Chicago, not far from Oprah Winfrey's studios.

A little over 10 years ago, Winters discovered the New Media which would occupy most of his attention since 1996. The internet, back then was not widely used for radio and TV broadcasts, unlike today. In fact, early internet radio (streaming media) reminded him of short-wave radio which is not suited for broadcasting music, but the promise of a new superior technology had him interested.

In the fall of 1996, Winters attended a Seminar hosted by Real Networks, now a major provider of audio and video online. Real executives said their internet radio sound quality would soon be upgraded, and when RealPlayer 3.0 was released a few weeks later, he was sufficiently convinced of the feasibility to begin work on his dream, an internet based broadcast network.

Now, in 2008 sunlite-radio.com has a devoted fan base and listeners from all over the world, 182 countries to date. "We've got quite an audience, Winters notes, " The British Broadcasting Company sent a reporter to visit and interview us in 2000 for a new series, "Christianity and Crisis" and the BBC broadcast that interview highlighting our online ministry.
Sunlite Radio began with just three music channels, but now features over 20 music channels including Classic Country, Country Gospel, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass Gospel, and Urban Gospel. The Website is located at: www.sunlite-radio.com
As to the choice of music, from the Start, Winters asked himself, " what is not on Chicago radio." and the answer was clear, Classic Country and Gospel. Finding a niche market that was not already crowded with big radio powerhouses was definitely the right way to go, Winters believes. "We can't compete, and we're not trying to compete with the major players like Clear Channel radio which owns hundreds of stations nationwide." If we stream audio that you can't hear on most commercial stations, then we have a chance."

Sunlite Radio also features many popular syndicated radio programs such as Paul Heil's "The Gospel Greats," Sunlite has a very large Gospel Greats audience, as many of them are not able to hear the program on local radio or at a convenient time.
Sunlite also features the historic broadcast, "The Old Fashioned Revival Hour" featuring Charles Fuller who was a Christian Radio Pioneer, heard by millions in the U.S. and overseas. The program has been newly edited and released for today's audience. Every week, listeners hear the powerful evangelistic messages by Dr. Fuller along with the music of the Old Fashioned Revival Hour Choir. The program's staff tells Sunlite that many of their listeners hear the broadcast online in nations around the world.

Sunlite Radio has a Tidewater Connection. It's the host for a unique channel for moms who want soothing music for their Babies. It's called Lullabye Radio , created and offered as a public service by the American Guild for Infant Survival which has its office in Virginia Beach. Scott and his wife, Eileen founded the organization years ago following the death of their daughter to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Fr. George Knab, who has relatives in Tidewater, has often preached in the area. He too has his own teaching channel on Sunlite which has been beneficial to his ministry.

Since the advent of Wi-Fi and broadband connections as well as dial-up, anyone who has a lap top, desk top computer and certain mobile devices can easily listen to Sunlite Radio, which also offers many of its programs in a podcast format which has also become popular, and has many subscribers.
Winters notes that many hobbyists, over the years have developed their own radio stations online. "Anyone who has a computer, a sound card, and audio equipment can do it," Winters admits, "but it's more than just collecting and playing music. You should be a programmer." This, of course, comes from a man who has been a disc jockey, (his career started at the same station that launched the career of "Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak) Program Director, Television Producer and TV promotions and Public Relations Director. Winters is also an ordained minister, and was Pastor of Trinity Chapel, a church that was located in the Bowers Hill area of Chesapeake.
Those years at Trinity were a source of great satisfaction and blessing he recalls.
Sunlite is truly a Global Radio station broadcasting the Gospel. The reason that the station has some commercial channels such as Country and Bluegrass music, is that "We don't just want to preach to the Choir," he added, "We want to reach those who don't have faith in the Lord," and hundreds of thousands have come to our station, to listen to Classic Country and Bluegrass. The Gospel Channels can then minister to them along with our preaching and teaching programs.

Another positive feature of Sunlite Radio is its ease of use. There are no registration forms to fill out, no cumbersome ads to wade through, the listener just clicks on the link and the music starts playing in about three seconds or less.
This year, Sunlite Radio is offering Church and Media ministries the opportunity to broadcast their audio and/or video programs on the Sunlite Network. Like the music channels, the programs will be available "On Demand," that is any time, day or night in comparison to many other Internet stations that broadcast programs at a fixed day and time, like regular radio. Tidewater ministries that are interested in this option should contact Allan Winters by,e-mail: sunlitebroadcasting@yahoo.com, or by mail: Sunlite Broadcasting, 10432 Mason Ave (office) Oak Lawn, IL 60453

As to the future, Winters is currently working on a new video service which will feature music videos and short form programs. Since more than half on internet users now have high speed access, he believes this will be a valuable addition to the ministry.

Sunlite Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02212611343852723060noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5596121335782207367.post-76254300907927282422008-04-18T16:11:00.000-07:002008-04-18T16:15:34.289-07:00Sunlite Radio's New Blog With Allan WintersDear Friends:

I'm glad to tell you that we are beginning a new blog on blogger.com

Every week, possibly more often than that, we will be posting inspirational messages, news, Sunlite Radio program notes and a whole lot more.

I'm really looking forward to our new media extension, and the good news is that you can post your responses to these blogs as well.

God Bless!
Pastor AllanSunlite Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02212611343852723060noreply@blogger.com2
